Emphatic wins for YUCC, YWC in U-16 Boys Cricket

IMPHAL, Jan 22 : YUCC and YWC-L successfully extended their winning runs at the 2nd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy.
YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai were able to post a convincing 186 run victory against ESU, Wangkhei in the 8th Group A league match of the tournament at Model Club Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground today while YWC, Langthabal pulled off a comprehensive 7 wicket victory against TRAU, Kwakeithel in the 9th Group A league match at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground.
YUCC rode on half centuries by N Rohit (68 off 66 balls) and N Dibak (85 off 57 balls) to post a huge total of 279 runs for 3 in the first innings after they opted to bat first and held ESU for 93 runs to earn the big win.
Bidyashwor who came out as opener managed 41 runs off 30 balls for YUCC before M Naotanjit added 26 runs in this innings which saw ESU's K Booker, Suraj and Reewaj pick up a wicket each.
 In reply, S Ronan who scored 13 runs was the highest scorer as the preceding and the following order fell cheaply to ESU's bowling attack led by L Bikash. Bikash finished with the best figure of 3 for 7 in 6 overs while N Debaraj, S Johnson and N Dibak claimed a wicket each.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa, TRAU won the toss and opted to bat first but were all out for 66 in 18.5 overs as Basu of YWC-L wreaked havoc across their batting line up and enjoyed a fifer.
Somokanta with 11 runs off 15 balls was the only double digit scorer in this innings which also saw  YWC-L Soubam Robinson and Alberth claim two wickets each.
The chase was an easy walk as YWC reached the target in just 10.3 overs with Herojit leading the chase with an unbeaten 18-ball 21 run finish. Seram Robinson and Basu also added 19 and 6 runs respectively in the chase to help YWC seal the 7 wicket win.
TRAU's Somokanta picked up two wicket in this innings while Roshan finished with a single.
YWC-L's Basu was eventually named man of the match.
