Three Manipuris to receive distinguished service award

Three prominent personalities based in Bangladesh, Tripura and Manipur will be conferred Ashem Ibomcha Singh & Ashem (o) Hemabati Devi Memorial Distinguished Service Award 2020.
A press release issued by secretary of Ipak Films Production Manipur stated that the award will be handed to the three  persons on the premier show of Manipuri digital feature film, Bangladeshki Sana Tampa (a new production of Ipak Films Production Manipur) at MSFDS on January 25.
It stated that the production team will be giving away the Ashem Ibomcha Singh & Ashem (o) Hemabati Devi Memorial Distinguished Service Award 2020 along with the title of "Bangladeshki Athoiba Mapari" to one Leiphrakpam Ibungohal alias Ibungohal Shyamal for his immense dedication and contributions in promoting Manipuri language, script, culture and tradition of the State among places primarily settled by Meiteis in Bangladesh and for his efforts in developing the society.
The team will also hand over the award to Kshetrimayum Madhabi, social and cultural activist, along with the title "Tripura Maikei Ngaklibi Ningol" for her dedication and effort to uphold Manipuri dance, music and other social activists in Tripura for the past 25 years.
Meanwhile, another social and cultural activist of the State   Sunder Salam will also receive the award along with the title "Manipurgi Athoiba Mapari" for being one of the pioneers who has been dedicating in promotion of Manipuri culture and development of the Manipuri society.
It can be noted that the award has been donated by founder Principal of Imphal Public Higher Secondary School Canchipur Ashem Kennedy in the name of his late parents Ashem Ibomcha and Ashem (o) Hemabati.
The award includes cash, shawl, citation and memento, it added.
