16 th KIWT 2020: Ward No 3, 1, 9 register wins in football

KANGPOKPI, Jan 22: Ward No 3's Under-13 and main football teams won their respective matches in the ongoing 16th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2020 today at Brig M Thomas ground, Kangpokpi DHQs.
In another main football, Ward No 1 beat Ward No 16 while in the veteran category Ward No 9 defeated Ward No 2 to earn a place in the Semi-Final Round Robin League.
In under-13 category, Ward No 3 had an easy 3-0 win over Ward No 4 thanks to Kailemlal (14th , 17th) and Haogunngam (45th) goals.
In the first match of the main category, Ward No 1 had a narrow 2-1 win over Ward No 6 to book themselves a berth in the knockout round. Haominlen Haokip (6th) and Nelson (58 th) scored for Ward No 1 while Lalminlen Lhouvum scored for Ward No 16 in the 5th minute.
In the third match of the main category, Ward No 3 maintained their unbeaten record after 2-0 win over Ward No 5& 6 finishing as Pool-A winners. Khaigouhao and Lenkhotinlal scored for Ward No 3 in the 39th and 44th minutes both via penalty.
In the veteran category's do or die match, Ward No 9 defeated Ward No 1  by 3-1 goals. Lalkholen (20th , 24th) and Satthang (26th) scored for Ward No 9 while Len Doungel scored the solitary goal of Ward No 1 in the 14th minute.
In men’s volleyball, Ward No 5& 6 defeated Ward No 11 in straight sets (25-19/25-14) before Ward No 14 defeated Ward No. 1(B)  25-16,25-21.
While in the first match of the women’s volleyball, Ward No 10 defeated Ward No 16 in straight  sets (25-10, 25-10) before Ward No 2 had an easy  25-6, 25-10  win over Ward No 9(A).
