IMPHAL, Jan 22: The Go To Village Mission of the State Government will be held every fortnight this year, said Government officials.
The decision was taken during a meeting presided by Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu at Old Secretariat conference hall today. The meeting attended by Additional Chief Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners and other high ranking Government officials including Directors of various Departments discussed the Go To Village (GTV) Mission plan for this year.
Launched last year, the GTV Mission had reached out to people at their doorsteps with benefits of welfare schemes of the Government. In the previous year, the mission was conducted weekly at different villages in a phased manner.
Even though the decision to hold the GTV Mission camps every fortnight was taken during the meeting, the decision to resume/re-launch the mission will be taken by the Chief Minister, said the officials.
Deputy Commissioners of all districts will be sending detailed reports of last year's pending works to the Government for their disposal in this year's GTV Mission, added the officials informing that the meeting also discussed the budget required to hold the mission.
Later, after the meeting, the Chief Secretary and the Deputy Commissioners also held a review meeting of the One Stop Centres installed under the Social Welfare Department, added the officials.
