State level open debating competition organised

IMPHAL, Jan 22 : WAL United Youths' Club, Wangkhei Angom Leikai, organised the State Level Open Debating Competition 2020, at the club ground yesterday.
The competition was held under the topic, 'Government of India na Manipur gi Lalhoulup Singga Thamoi Sengna Unconditionally Wari Sanaraba Khaktada Tangdu Leitaba Manipur Ama Oigani'.
Retired Prof of MU W Nabakumar Singh was the speaker at the competition while retd IPS P Sonamani, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Professor Homen Thangjam and All Manipur Bar Association president M Nilachandra Singh were present as the judges.
24 participants took part in the debate competition with 7 in the treasury bench and 17 in the opposition bench.
DESAM secretary general Leishangthem Lamyanba, s/o L Mangisana of Paona Keithel secured the top position in the debate competition while Anamika Heirangkhongjam d/o H Rajen of Kakching Wairi Ningthonjam Leikai and Tokpam Nongthangleima d/o T Koireng from Lamphel secured the second and third positions respectively.
