Trust instituted

CCPUR, Jan 23: The Siktui Foundation Trust was today instituted at the residence of M Gouzamang, proprietor of Siktui Packaged Drinking Water and Siktui Farms and Resorts, to help those who can’t afford a decent education but are otherwise dedicated and deserving.
An interim body to be headed by Thiankholian Guite, a retired banker has been appointed along with three others to evolve a proper structure and foundation.
The trust will be financed by Siktui Packaged Drinking Water and Siktui Farms and Resorts in its initial stage but it will eventually open up avenues for other willing sponsors as well, said M Gouzamang.
The initial focus for sponsors will be on the students who have migrated to the town from the interior areas in search of a better life, he said adding that the initial help will be extended on sponsoring their admission fees, tuition fees, uniforms, books and notebooks. Eventually, the Trust looks forward to expanding its horizon to better reach out to the needy, he continued.
