SIT constituted

IMPHAL, Jan 22: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the alleged assault and molestation of a lady IPS officer and her escort party by one Rifleman of 12 Assam Rifles D-Company at Khudengthabi check post on January 19.
The SIT was formed as per an order issued by the DGP, Manipur Police, for effective investigation of the FIR registered in connection with the incident.
The SIT will be headed by Themthing Ngasangva, DIG Range (I/IV) Manipur, and it will have Augustine Khongsai, Additional SP (Law and Order) Chandel, Bidyapati Thingbaijam SDPO Imphal and L Meghabarna SDPO (Moreh), as members.
