Minor raped

IMPHAL, Jan 22: In an incident that is as shocking as it was abhorrent, an 8 year old minor was allegedly raped by her own father at Takyel Khongbam, Imphal West.
According to a source, the parents of the minor victim divorced around a year back and she had been staying with her father ever since.
The incident came to light when the child visited her mother and revealed about the heinous act committed by her own father. Following the child's shocking revelation, her mother filed a complaint immediately and the accused individual, aged around 29 years, was arrested by police yesterday.
On the other hand, the source continued that the accused was produced before the Session Judge Imphal West today before being remanded to 3 days in police custody for necessary investigation.
