IMPHAL, Jan 23: The full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day celebration was held today under heavy security measures, with participation of numerous security personnel, officials of various Government institutions and students of different schools and colleges. The rehearsal also marked the first participation from the 9th Mahila IRB Battalion female commando contingent and Cycle Patrol team of Kakching police.
Asana Sarangthem (MPS), Assistant Director of Manipur Police Training Centre, Pangei, was the parade commander of the full dress rehearsal and she will also command the Republic Day march on January 26.
The full dress rehearsal march past began from 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground and passed the Chief Minister's Bungalow before heading toward the southern gate of the historic Kangla fort.
The march passed the saluting batch in front of Kangla Uttra Sanglen where the ADC to the Governor took the salute from the saluting batch, in the presence of DGP, LM Khaute.
The march past came out from Kangla Fort northern gate, and proceeded towards Khoyathong LIC office from where it passed Kangla western gate before concluding at 1st MR parade ground. 
Around 70 parade contingents took part in the full dress rehearsal today, including paramilitary, police, school, college, NCC, scouts and guides, State bomb expert team, cultural troupes and band parties.
A contingent of the 4th Meghalaya Indian Reserved Battalion also took part in the event today
A large number of crowd turned up to witness the full dress rehearsal along the route.
