1 killed as truck rams roadside house

CCpur, Jan 23: One person was killed on the spot and two others were injured when a shaktiman truck rammed a road-side house after knocking down an electric post at Saikot village last night at about 8.
The truck bearing registration no MN02 6636 reportedly hit an electric pole first, then rammed into a wooden house located not far from the road. The driver identified as Suonkhomang Haokip of Leijangkhopi and Jamkhosei Haokip of S Nabil village sustained varying degrees of injury in the incident but another helper Seikholun Haokip of Leijangkhopi succumbed to his injuries.
Occupants of the house belonging to Lalpawllien fortunately escaped unharmed, though the truck rammed through the wall. The body of the deceased and those injured were taken to the District Hospital late in the night. The deceased was laid to rest today while the injured are still undergoing treatment.
