Nagaland Minister passes away

DIMAPUR, Oct 12 : Nagaland Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Justice & Law, CM Chang passed away on Monday. He was 78.
On the demise of the Minister, the Nagaland Government has declared a two-day mourning as a mark of respect from October 13.
Reports said the Minister passed away at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) after a brief illness.
Meanwhile, during the two-day mourning, the Tri-colour will be flown half mast throughout Nagaland where it is regularly flown and there will be no official entertainment. There will be a State funeral for the departed leader.
It can be noted here that CM Chang had also represented Nagaland in Parliament in 2009. He was elected on the NPF ticket from the Nagaland Lok Sabha seat to the 15th Lok Sabha.
CM Chang was elected from Noksen Assembly Constituency in Tuensang district to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) in the 2018 Assembly election.
CM Chang first joined politics in 2003. He took voluntary retirement as a Government employee to join politics.
