IMPHAL, Oct 27: Ginsuanhau who has been elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly from Singnat AC unchallenged would be sworn in tomorrow at 2 pm in the office chamber of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Joint Secretary Rohit Sapam has issued a notification to this effect today.
Notably, Ginsuanhau was contesting the by-election in Singnat AC as a BJP candidate but his only rival Chinlunthang (Independent) withdrew his nomination papers and thus he captured the vacant Singnat Assembly seat unchallenged.
As many as six Congress MLAs including Ginsuanhau resigned from the membership of Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 10 this year.
The other MLAs who resigned along with Ginsuanhau were Oinam Lukhoi (Wangoi AC), Md Abdul Nasir (Lilong AC), Paonam Brojen (Wangjing-Tentha AC), Ngamthang Haokip (Saitu AC) and Okram Henry (Wangkhei AC).
Out of all the vacant Assembly seats, Wangoi, Lilong, Wangjing-Tentha and Saitu are scheduled to go to by-polls on November 7.
