‘No SOPs followed in poll campaign’

IMPHAL, Oct 28 : Chief Minister N Biren and all political parties should be held responsible if there is a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the poll-bound Constituencies, said All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) today.
Stating that the Chief Minister and his Ministers are heading intense poll campaigns disregarding the COVID-19 SOPs, AMNM said the State may see a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases once the elections are over.
Particularly, the Assembly Constituencies of Lilong, Wangjing-Tentha, Wangoi and Saitu are likely to see a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases if the SOPs are not followed, it said holding Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who is also holding Health portfolio, responsible for poorly imple- menting the SOPs. By elections to the 4 Constituencies are scheduled to be held on November 7.
