COVID-19 : Meeting discusses strategies

BISHNUPUR, Oct 30: A consultative meeting was convened today at the conference hall of Bishnupur Municipal Council to come up with a strategy to lessen COVID cases in the State.
The meeting was attended by Bishnupur AC MLA, Govindas Konthoujam; Councillors of Ward no 12, Bishnupur Municipal Council;  local clubs, CSOs and meira paibi lups based in Ward no 12.
Govindas Konthoujam, Bishnupur Municipal Council  Chairperson L Maniyaima Singh, Lumlangdong Apunba Nupi Lupki president L Nganbi Devi, Vice president ANUL Bishnupur L Pramo were the presidium members of the meeting.  
At the meeting, a committee christened as United Development Committee Bishnupur was also formed.
Office bearers of the committee are L Nganbi Devi (president), M Bilkee Singh (secretary), T Guna (treasurer). MLA Govindash Konthoujam and L Maniyaima Singh have also been appointed as the advisors of the committee.
At the meeting,  Govindas Konthoujam appealed to all to follow the SOP for COVID-19 to avoid coronavirus infections.
The MLA also said that collective effort is needed to beat the pandemic.
Saying that he would approach authorities concerned to halt COVID testing at the District Hospital and would find a suitable location for the same soon,  the MLA continued that he would also consult with the Chief Minister to convert the under construction nursing home at Nachou as COVID Care Centre.
Shifting of an Army Camp at Loukoipat is also under consideration to establish a 100- bedded district hospital, he added.
