IMPHAL, Oct 29: The State COVID-19 death toll has touched 160 after two more fell victim to the virus during the last 24 hours.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, two men aged 48 and 67 hailing from Imphal East and Imphal West respectively died of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.
In the meantime, 242 people including 10 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Imphal East, Maipakpi Hospital, Little Clinic, Tengnoupal, Noney, Raj Medicity, Ukhrul, Advance Hospital, Bishnupur, RD Wing, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Jivan Hospital, Churachandpur, Swiss Clinic, Christian Hospital, Chandel, Public Hospital, Shija Hospital, Jiribam, IRL, Hillside Hospital, Tamenglong and Babina Diagnostics.
The 232 civilians who have been tested positive for the contagion belong to Imphal West (103), Imphal East (49), Thoubal (3), Tengnoupal (4), Kangpokpi (2), Ukhrul (4), Bishnupur (15), Kakching (6), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (7), Tamenglong (23), Jiribam (9), Noney (1) and Chandel (5). None of them has any significant history of travelling outside the State.
Meanwhile Secretary to the Chief Minister and National Health Mission, State Mission Director N Geoffrey tested positive for COVID-19 today.
Altogether 163 COVID-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (8), home isolation (24), JNIMS (21), RIMS (7), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (36), CCC UNACCO (32), Kakching (3), Tamenglong (1), RD Wing (1), Bish-nupur (8), Chandel (2), Thoubal (2), Ukhrul (1), Bal Bhavan (3), Lamding (5), Kasom Khullen (5) and Phungyar (4).
The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases as of Thursday is 19,051 (general population 15319, Central security personnel 2732).
It includes 4308 active cases (general population 4018, Central security personnel 290) and 13583 discharged cases (general population 11145, Central security personnel 2438).
The recovery rate stands at 75.24 per cent.
