Eminent Manipuri writer Sagolshem Indrakumar passes away

Eminent Manipuri writer Sagolshem Indrakumar Singh passed away this morning due to an illness at his residence at Thangmeiband Khoyathong. He was 79.
He was honoured with Bal Sahitya Puraskar Award 2012 by Sahitya Akademi New Delhi.  
Union of Associations of Manipur Writers; Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur, Tripura, Assam; Ipak Films Production Manipur; Nature Cure & Yoga Hospital, Kongba; Assam Pradesh Manipuri Association and many others have expressed their condolences.
In a condolence message, Union of Associations of Manipur Writers president Prof Jodha C Sanasam said, writer Sagolshem Indrakumar was a drama producer of All India Radio Imphal and later he was promoted upto Assistant Station Director. He retired as Station Director of DDK, Dibrugargh.
 Arabki Ahing, 1977; Pinokiyo, 1978; Thouna Phaba Khambaton, 1984; Bharatki Shaknaibasing, 1993; Barlingi Chekpalna Tukhrabada, 2007, Ningshingli Esheido, 2010, Eikhoi Anigi Anouba Sangsar 2010, Waree Singbullaktagi, Thada Thabaton and many other books were written by him during his lifetime.
In another condolence message, Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur president Yaiskul Khwairakpam said “Oja Indrakumar” was president of  Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur.
Dr Kamal’s Madhabi (1977); Shakespeare’s Macbeth (1989); Hemlet (2004); Hijam Guno’s Laman (2007); Aroiba Paodam (2008); Khudol (2009-10) were written as Radio Serials by him and it was broadcasted by All India Radio Imphal.  Many other plays were also written by him during his lifetime.
