Awareness campaign on Amur Falcons conducted

An awareness campaign was conducted today by the staff of Churachandpur Forest Division on Amur Falcon for villages in and around Tuivai river.
Three roosting sites of the migratory bird have been detected by experts of Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
DC of Churachandpur Pawan Yadav has also issued an order banning the hunting, killing, catching and selling of Amur Falcon by anyone in the district with immediate effect.
The village authorities of Khuanggin village around Tuivai area in Mualnuam sub-division shall strictly monitor the implementation of the order.
Any report of violation shall be addressed appropriately by the SDO concerned in accordance with the existing law and in consultation with District Forest Officer, Churachandpur.
