Senapati DC bans hunting and sale of Amur Falcons

SENAPATI, Nov 10
The District Magistrate, Senapati District Th Kirankumar has issued an order banning the hunting, catching, killing and selling of the bird Amur Falcon (Falco amurensis) by anyone in the district with immediate effect.
The concerned village authorities of Phaibung, Lakhamai, Karong, TNK-Senapati, Makhel, Tobumai and Kaibi village shall strictly monitor the implementation of the order.
In case of any reports of violation, the SDO concerned shall take up appropriate action in accordance with the existing law under the provision of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and in consultation with the District Forest Officer, Senapati.
