HC hears NIA petition

IMPHAL, Nov 6 :  High Court of Manipur today heard the petition filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) challenging the recent order of Special Judge NIA Manipur to open offices of the Salai Group of Companies and Smart Society and fixed November 23 for next hearing.
A division bench of the High Court comprising Justice MV Muralidaran and Justice Ahanthem Bimol was hearing the petition to pass an interim order. However due to paucity of time, the Court was unable to conclude the hearing and pass any order.
The Court then listed the matter for further hearing on November 23.
It may be mentioned that an order of the Special NIA Court had passed an order to allow offices of the Salai Group to open on November 4. The NIA then filed a petition challenging the order of the Special NIA Court with the High Court the next day.
The High Court on November 3 had also issued notice to Salai Group of Companies and Smart Society returnable within 2 weeks.
