IMPHAL, Nov 6: The Investigating Officer of State Police who first probed the 2nd Manipur Rifles arms missing case was examined and heard by the Special Judge NIA Manipur today and fixed November 9 for further hearing.
During the hearing today, chargesheeted accused persons, self styled KRA chief David Hangsing, Hiranjoy, Brojendro, Damodoran and Damudor were present before the Court.
Accused Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip, Ngamboi and Laishram Anilkumar filed applications to dispense with their appearance before the Court.
Then SDPO Imphal, A Ghanashyam Sharma, the first Investigation Officer before NIA took over the case was examined as a prosecution witness.
His submission was heard and the Court fixed November 9 for further hearing.
Yesterday, the Court heard another prosecution witness, P Manjit, CO 2nd Manipur Rifle.
It may be noted that 56 auto 9mm pistols along with 58 magazines were found missing from the arms kote of 2nd Manipur Rifles between 2014 and 2018.
