IMPHAL, Nov 6 : The JNIMS Teachers’ Association has threatened to launch different modes of agitation from November 19 if their pay scales are not hiked to the scales recommended by the 7th Central Pay Commission.
A press release issued by JNIMS Teachers’ Association publicity secretary N Phungreikam pointed out that a Cabinet meeting held on January 2, 2009 adopted a decision to hike the pay scales of JNIMS employees to the scales equivalent to those of RIMS employees.
RIMS employees have been enjoying the 7th Pay but no such pay hike has been effected for JNIMS employees till date, according to the press release.
It is a matter of grave concern that JNIMS employees are being denied their due rights when more than 220 healthcare providers of the institute have been suffering from all kinds of difficulties after they contracted COVID-19, it said.
It then urged the Government to hike the pay scales of JNIMS employees to the scales recommended by the 7th Central Pay Commission.
