Meghalaya records over 90 Covid-19 recoveries on Friday

Shillong, Nov 6: Ninety-one more persons have recovered from COVID-19 in Meghalaya in the past 24 hours to take the total recoveries to 8,904 in the state. On the other hand, 86 new cases of the disease were detected in the same period in the state.    
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said 70 people who have recovered from the viral infection are from East Khasi Hills, 8 West Garo Hills, 7 West Jaintia Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 1 East Garo Hills and 1 Ri Bhoi.
Of the fresh 86 positive cases of COVID-19, he said 25 are from East Garo Hills district, 21 East Khasi Hills district, 13 Ri Bhoi district, 10 West Garo Hills district, 6 East Jaintia Hills district, 5 West Jaintia Hills district, 4 South West Garo Hills district and 2 South Garo Hills district.
Dr War said seven police personnel including 6 from Ri Bhoi and 1 from East Garo Hills were also among the new cases detected on Friday.
The state has so far a total of 9,893 COVID-19 out of which 984 are active cases, 8,904 recovered and 91 deaths.
Of the total active cases, East Khasi Hills has 263 positive cases that include 22 Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces and 241 civilians, Ri Bhoi 273, West Garo Hills 146, West Jaintia Hills 103, East Garo HIlls 89, East Jaintia Hills 49, North Garo Hills 15, West Khasi Hills 14, South West Garo Hills 17, South Garo Hills 13, and South West Khasi Hills 2.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,08,730 persons have been tested of which 1,98,751 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 55,710 entrants from outside the state.
