Manipur dispatches organic kiwis to three cities

IMPHAL, Nov 7 : Organic kiwis produced by the farmers of Purul village in Senapati district has been airlifted to three different cities.
Krushi Karma Naturals Private Limited is vending the said kiwis under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region with the support of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA).
About 1 metric ton of organic kiwis from the State was dispatched to Delhi, Bangalore and Pune, said project director of MOMA, Kh Devdutta Sharma.
Under the aegis of the Chief Minister, the agency has been helping the organic farmers economically by facilitating sale of varieties of organic fruits to other parts of the State as well as outside the State, he continued.
As a part of their consistent effort to boost the farmers of the State, the kiwis grown by Purul farmers were airlifted from Imphal International Airport today.
An agency called Indigenous Food of Manipur will be receiving the despatched kiwis at Bangalore, he said while adding that another marketing agency named Pan Corporation in Pune is procuring the same.
Kh Devdutta Sharma also expressed gratitude to Indigo Airlines service for assisting them in transporting the said organic items to other parts of the country.
