AR organises orientation workshops, football match

IMPHAL, Nov 8: Troops of Assam Rifles at Moreh organised an awareness workshop on prevention and protection against COVID-19 at Haolenphai Village as part of the Fit India Movement.
To promote sports amongst the youth and to maintain bonhomie between Armed Forces and locals along the India Myanmar border, a friendly football match was also conducted, said IGAR (S) ina statement.
This initiative by Assam Rifles for Haolenphai and nearby villages of Moreh covered the safety aspects and precautionary measures against Covid-19. The workshop emphasised on issues like use of facial masks, maintaining social distancing, avoiding public gathering, use of hand sanitizer, it added.
It also said that a friendly football match was played between Haolenphai and Munnom Phai village of Moreh.
The event was witnessed by all nearby village chiefs and locals residents.
The Commandant of Moreh Battalion addressed the gathering for prevention against Covid-19 , it said and added that the event culminated with the felicitation of the two teams and distribution of face masks.
