Veteran T-20 Cricket: Emphatic wins for CYCLONE and Model Club

IMPHAL, Feb 14: Suresh's knock of 85 off 57 balls carried the day for Model Club as they downed LCCC at Langthabal Public Ground in  the 8th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2020.
LCCC Lilong Chajing, who won the toss, elected to bat first and set a target of 118 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs, while Model Club amassed 120 runs losing only a wicket in just 11.2 overs to win the match.
Pratap (26), Mujibur Rahman (22), Rakesh (19) and Nandakumar (12) could score double digits for LCCC to pile up the 118 runs in the first innings which saw Model Club's Dauglas scalp two wickets and his team mates Sharatchandra, Suresh and Pyarlal claim a wicket each.
For Model Club, Suresh gave the man of the match performance by hitting 85 runs off 39 balls and Gouranchandra contributed 25 off 23 balls to steer his team to 120.
Sharif grabbed the lone wicket for LCCC.
In the second match of the day at Langthabal Public Ground, Cyclone  thrashed Oscar by 76 runs.
Cyclone, Thangmeiband won the toss and batted first to amass 188 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Shasikumar made a massive 88 runs off 57 balls and remained not out to be named the man of the match. Bikom, Robindro and Binoy score double digits for Cyclone while Oscar’s Ninghor, Devkanta, Lalboy and Bhupendra scalped one wicket each.
On the other hand, Oscar lost 7 wickets in 20 overs to collect just 112 runs. Cyclone’s L Surjit picked up two wickets, while W Surjit, Suraj and Bikom claimed one wicket each.
