PYA, FC Lamjao win in 13th Jiri Cup

IMPHAL, Feb 15 : PYA, Kairang and FC Lamjao were able to post wins in today's Group X quarter final league matches of the ongoing 13th Jiri Cup Invitation Football Tournament 2019-20 organised by All Jiribam Sports Association at Jiribam Hr Secondary School ground.
In the first match of the day, PYA which kicked off their quarter final league campaign with a 5-0 win against FC Lamjao earlier, extended their winning run by edging past WYFC, Wangjing 3-1 today.
Nauton put PYA ahead in the 7th minute with a clinical finish before Leingakpa doubled the team's advantage in the 39th minute.
After leading the first half 2-0, PYA continued their stellar form in the second half dominating the possession and scoring chances.
And off one effort, Saroj handed PYA the 3-0 lead with a well taken shot in the 47th minute.
WYFC however pulled back a goal in the 65th minute through Naoba before PYA ran out 3-1 winners.
Meanwhile in another quarter final league match, FC Lamjao made their way back into the tournament with a 3-2 comeback win against UBFC as Th Thoiba scored thrice.
Th Thoiba drew first blood in the 12th minute to hand FC Lamjao a slender 1-0 lead but the lead failed to last long as Remsang helped UBFC, Hmarkholien draw level in the 15th minute before Emanuel Khawbung overturned the lead in the 23rd minute.
FC Lamjao which trailed 1-2 to UBFC, however bounced back with Th Thoiba scoring his second in the 52nd minute before striking the winner in the 78th minute.
