T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket: YWC, Model Club post comprehensive victories

IMPHAL, Feb 15 : YWC, Langthabal and Model Club, Chingamakha earned huge wins in today's matches of the 8th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
In the group B league match of the day, YWC chased down a target of 105 runs set by DSU, Kwakeithel with 9 wickets left in the hand.
DSU managed 104 runs for 8 in the first innings after winning the toss and opting to bat first as Chingtam topscored with 34 runs off 38 balls. Somorjit with 24 runs in 16 balls also made his name on the scoresheet as Basanta and Anand also added 16 and 10 runs each.
YWC's Gojendro, Samananda and Sashikanta made a concerted effort and shared two wickets each in this innings as Priyokumar claimed a single.
Meanwhile in the chase, Manaobi struck a 40 ball 57 and Kumarjit managed 21 ball 48 to help YWC reach the target in 11.3 overs losing just a single to DSU's Mani.
Manaobi was eventually named man of the match.
Elsewhere in the Group A league match, Model Club registered their second win beating CHAMP, Khagempali by 43 runs.
Model Club posted a modest target of 154 runs for CHAMP losing 9 wickets before bundling the latter team for 110 in 19 overs.
Suresh shone for Model which won the toss and elected to bat first, as he struck 75 off 48 balls before Gourachandra and Douglas gathered 18 and 13 runs respectively.
CHAMP's Jodiba was the pick of the bowlers with three of the crucial Model Club wickets in his name while Kipgen claimed two wickets in this innings.
In the chase, CHAMP made a good start scoring 26 off 26 balls but the following order failed to resist disciplined bowling effort by Model Club bowlers. Bablu (11), Bullu (10) and Nandakumar (18) also fetched doubled digit scores in the chase before they were held  to 110 in the 19th over.
Model Club's Suresh, Pyarlal and Sharat picked up two wicket each in this innings as Demin managed a single in his spell of 4 overs.
Suresh was also adjudged man of the match.
