Veteran T-20 : LCCC, Model Club ensure semi-final spots

IMPHAL, Feb 19 : LCCC, Lilong Chajing and Model Club, Chingamakha completed trebles in 5-team group stage at the 8th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament to ensure the two semi-final slots from the group (A) today.
In the 7th Group A league match, Model Club defended a handsome total of 171 runs against YPHU, Lalambung to clinch  their third straight win at Langthabal Public Ground.
After being let to bat first YPHU, Suresh stacked up an impressive 86 off 49 balls as Gourachandra was 50 not out in 53 balls. Santosh too added 22 runs to help Model Club post 171 runs for 2.
The inning saw Bedamohan of YPHU pick up a wicket in 4 overs.
In the chase, YPHU managed 147 runs for 9 as YPHU bowlers wreaked havoc across their batting line up.
Hemanta topscored with 32 runs in this chase as Dorendro and Ibungobi managed 29 and 28 runs respectively. Boniyam also earned 16 runs off 13 balls in the innings as Demin of Model Club enjoyed a three wicket haul and Sharat and Pyarlal created trouble by grabbing two wickets each.
Suresh of Model Club who made the most of the runs for Model Club was named man of the match.
Meanwhile, LCCC which went down to Model Club in their first league stage match, completed their league stage by beating NAPSA by 23 runs for their third win.
LCCC who won the toss and opted to bat first piled up a huge target of 176 runs for NAPSA losing 5 wickets and held the latter team at 152 for 8 in the chase.
Mujibur Rahaman continued to remain best batsman for LCCC as he gathered 64 off 52 balls while his team mates, Sanjit and Nandakumar added 37 runs apiece.
Prameshor of NAPSA managed 3 wickets in this innings before their chase ended at 152 runs despite Bhogendro's 31 ball half century.
Jilla and Krishna of LCCC gave NAPSA a tough time and managed three wickets apiece . Somorendro and Surjit added 23 and 22 runs respectively but their efforts went in vain as the target proved to be a bit huge to them.
OSCAR will play YWC in a Group B league match tomorrow.
