2nd Manipur Player's Day Invitational Football Championship 2020 : AMSU vs DESAM in final

AMSU (All Manipur Students' Union) will face off against DESAM (Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur) in the final of the 2nd Manipur Player's Day Invitational Football Championship 2020.
Both the teams had a narrow victory over their opponents in penalty shootouts in the semi final matches on Saturday.
AMSU beat SUK (Students' Union of Kangleipak) 7-6 early in the day while DESAM toppled AIMS (Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup) 10-9 in the afternoon to book the final berth with AMSU.
The match between AMSU and SUK saw the latter leading in the first half by 2 goals from Binoy and Sumion goals in the 13th and 19th minute. However, AMSU found their equalizers in the second half through Yuremba and Dungo in the 47th and 49th minutes respectively.
As both teams failed to score any winning goal till the end of normal time, the teams assembled for penalty shootouts in which AMSU netted 5 against SUK's 3 to come out on top.
Sailesh, Ganesh, Ashok, Dungo and Yuremba scored in penalty shootouts for AMSU in their 7-6 win over SUK as Surkumar, Sumion and Ningthou scored for the latter team.
In the second semi final match afternoon between DESAM and AIMS ended in a 1-1 draw forcing penalty shootouts to decide the winners. Dinku scored the lone goal in normal time for DESAM early in the 18th minute and M Bikramjit of AIMS levelled the score in the 62nd minute. DESAM's Yaiphaba, Birjit, Nganthoiba, William, Ranajit, Sabir, Biken, Santa and Nganthoiba scored from the spot while M Biranjit, L Rohit, L Haridash, Jenon, Sh Herojit, Asem Amold, L Nongdamba and Malemnganba scored for AIMS in a losing cause.
The tournament is being organised by Manipuri Students'  Federation under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association.
