WBCC rescues two birds

THOUBAL, Feb 22: Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation Committee (WBCC) Manipur conducted a drive to protect wildlife and migratory birds at various parts of Ikop Pat today, stated a press note from WBCC Manipur.
During the drive, the team came across bird traps and two birds, a garganey (nganu khere) and a green-winged teal (nganu surit), trapped in it. The rescued birds were released in the area, it said.
WBCC Manipur appealed the public to act more compassionately towards wild birds and animals and also to stop laying bird traps.
