Committee questions road quality

CCPur, Feb 23: The Tipaimukh Road Diversion Development Committee (TRDDC) has questioned the quality of works along the 7 km long stretch from Songpi to Churachandpur Police Station.
Inspection of the road development works which was undertaken by HVS Company based in Imphal from January 2020 was conducted today, it said.
The committee has been requesting the contractors to maintain quality in their construction as their appeal to DPR and the guidelines in public domain even before the commencement of works have not been fulfilled.
It further said they were shocked to learn that poor quality types of cement imported were used in the construction of the side drains.
The width of the road is reported to be of 4.3 metres, added the committee.
The committee has reportedly suspended the construction of side drains and claimed that the suspension will continue till the construction workers produce the  Detailed Project Report (DPR).
