IMPHAL, Feb 23: The Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB), Assam, Manipur and Nagaland and its frontal organizations Zeliangrong Pui Baudi, Zeliangrong Youth Front and All Zeliangrong Students Union, have rejected the demand of NSCN (IM) for Pan Naga Hoho during the Indo Naga Peace Talk/process.
A statement issued by the media cell of the Zeliangrong Civil Organisations demanded extension of the provision of Article 371 (A) of the Indian Constitution to all the Naga inhabited areas of the North East.
The Zeliangrong people living in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland will never accept the powerless and illogical Pan Naga Hoho, it mentioned claiming that the said demand has been one of the causes for confusion among the people/Naga community, and further delay of the 23 years long Indo-Naga peace talk, which otherwise would have reached its logical conclusion.
Taking advantage of the cease fire and political negotiation, the NSCN (IM) has been attempting to split the Naga family, particularly the Zeliangrong community, which is highly condemnable, it alleged. It continued that it is a known fact the prolonged Indo-Naga peace process has been obstructing peace and development in the region to some extent. Hence, it is important for the Central Government and the stake holders to urgently settle the issue. The decision of the 14 Naga tribes of Nagaland to reject the Pan Naga Hoho while welcoming the genuine demand of the Working Group (WG) of Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) for extension of Article 371(A) in all Naga areas is an encouraging step towards the Naga peace process, it said, adding that the Zeliangrong Civil Organizations will extend  appreciation and co-operation in this regard.
It further urged the Indian Government  to bring an amicable solution for the Naga people, which is acceptable and workable for both the Nagas and others, at the earliest so as to usher in peace and tranquillity in the region in particular and the Nation at large.
