Road mishaps claim four

IMPHAL, Feb 23: At least four individuals, including a young woman, were killed in various road mishaps which occurred in the State.
At around 9 am today, a 20 year old woman was fatally struck by a truck at Thangmeiband Watham Leirak. The victim has been identified as one Nongmaithem Sobita d/o N Sanatomba of Kakching Paji Leikai.
A case has been registered at Imphal PS regarding the incident.
On the other hand, one Pebam Jogen (40) s/o Ibohal of Khabi Mamang Leikai was killed after his cycle was hit by  a car near Utlou Awang Leikai, under Nambol PS, at around 8 pm yesterday.
In another instance, a labourer pulling a cart was killed after being struck by a dumper truck at Uripok yesterday morning.
The victim has been identified as one Maheshwar Pandit (52) of Sitamari district, Bihar (presently staying at Nagamapal).
A two wheeler borne individual was also killed after he got into an accident on his own near Mata Thong, Churachandpur district, at around 11 pm yesterday.
The identity of the youth is yet to be established and the body has been kept at Churachandpur district hospital morgue.
