Manipur and Nagaland are in the high risk of novel coronavirus as Chinese goods are still coming into the States through Moreh town of Manipur.
According to sources, the Chinese goods particularly the cloths, blankets and other wearable items are still flowing into Manipur uninterruptedly through many entry points via Myanmar, which is coming to Nagaland and distributed to the other States of North East.
Sources said that the businessmen are doing their business only for their income without thinking of the spread of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department has informed that no coronavirus case has been reported in the State so far.
The Principal Director in the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie in a release said till yesterday, out of 33 persons, who have come to Nagaland from the affected countries, none of them are found symptomatic as per the protocol specified by Central Government.
However, those coming from China have been quarantined in compliance of the extant protocol set by the Centre, Dr Soukhrie said.
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom held a meeting with the Secretary, Principal Director, Mission Director (NHM) and Departmental Officers on Monday to review the situation of the 2019 nCoV (Novel Coronavirus) in the State.
The Department has taken up all necessary precautions to monitor such persons and has also set up necessary measures for any untoward events in conformity of the Central guidelines.
The Health and Family Welfare Department urged the public not to panic and sought full cooperation, particularly from those who have or will be coming from affected countries to self declare by contacting the department at phone numbers 7005435243, 9856071745 and 7005539653.
The Department, in the interest of the public, further requested all concerned who are presently residing or have visited the affected country (s) on or before January 15, 2020 to send their detailed address (country, province and address as well as Nagaland address along with contact number) to the above mentioned contact number through text message or by WhatsApp.
The personal information of these persons will be kept under the preview of confidentiality, it said.
