Coronavirus alert in Nagaland District Task Force formed in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, Feb 6: With fear gripping the world following the outbreak of deadly coronavirus in China, the Dimapur district administration has taken up measures by constituting a District Task Force (DTF) to monitor and review preparedness for coronavirus (Coronavirus) in Dimapur on February 5. 
Following the meeting at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur to discuss preparedness for tackling the coronavirus threat in Dimapur district, the DTF was formed.
The members of the DTF include the Deputy Commissioner; Commissioner of Police; Chief Medical Officer; Medical  Superintendent; Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council; Chief Veterinary  Officer; Director, Airport Authority of India;  Station Manager, Dimapur Railway  Station; Extra Assistant Commissioner, Chumuke-dima;  District Public Relations  Officer; SMO, WHO, Kohima and Team Leader Rapid Response Team.
The February 5 meeting deliberated on measures for coordination with Railway department. The meeting decided that screening of passengers at Dimapur Airport, which started for passengers travelling from affected countries on January 30, will continue.
The meeting then decided to initiate announcements and display system for disseminating awareness on coronavirus at Dimapur Railways and the Medical Department to set up helpdesk at various  locations at the station.
The meeting also decided that the authority concerned will set up display system in Dimapur to inform the public not to panic and observe precautionary measures. 
Meanwhile, the administration advised the public to extend cooperation to Health and Family Welfare Department.
Persons who have travelled to the affected countries on or after January 15, 2020 are also requested to be proactive and come forward if they exhibit any symptom.
