Mizoram electoral rolls

AIZAWL, Feb 7: Mizoram has enrolled about 60.26 per cent of its total population of about 11 lakh in voter list as final roll, which figures more than 7,99,00 voters. The final roll was published on Friday, reports NNN.
The Mizoram Election Department officials said that there is an increase of 1.97 per cent in the number of voters after revision of the electoral roll which was conducted during December 6, 2019 to January 15 this year.
Female voters outnumbered their male counterpart by 20,842.
There are 4,10,085 women  voters against 3,89,243 male voters across the State.
The three newly created districts-Saitual, Hnahthial and Khawzawl-have not been included in the final roll as Assembly Constituencies under these districts are yet to be delimitated in consultation with the Election Commission of India (ECI), officials said.
There are 4,881 service voters and 20,492 first time voters comprising of 10,586 males and 9906 females.
Young voters in the age group of 20-29 constituted the highest age group at 2,50,763 while senior citizens above 80 years have the least voters at 11,593.
According to State Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Lalrinpuia, there are a total of 11, 847 Bru voters, including 5,786 female voters in six transit camps in Tripura.
He said that Mamit has the highest Bru voters at 8,987, followed by Kolasib district at 1,979 voters while 881 voters are from Lunglei district.
However, the Bru voters are yet to be removed from the State voter list. It will be done once they permanently settle in Tripura and enrol in that State’s electoral roll as per the quadripartite pact signed on January 16, the official said. 
Those Bru voters, who have returned to Mizoram during the final repatriation last year have been added in the final roll of their respective villages in Mizoram, he added.
According to the final roll, Aizawl district has the highest number of voters among eight districts at 3,00,394 followed by Lunglei district at 1,08,735 and the least number of voters is in Siaha district at 40,658.
Mizoram has 40 Assembly Constituencies and at a present there are 1,222 polling stations across the State.
