YPHU win title of 10th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial Football

The 10th edition of Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial Football Tournament 2019-20 was concluded on March 12. The tournament was kicked off by Governor, Dr Najma Heptulla  on February 19 at SAI Sports Complex, Imphal. 25 top teams of Manipur participated in the tournament this year and making it one of the most sought after tournaments in the state.
Works Minister, Th Biswajit Singh graced the occasion as chief guest. Anshuman Yadav IPS, IGP M&N Sector CRPF gave the welcome speech and gave an insight of the bravery of Late  Ng Manoranjan Singh, Asstt Comdt.
Th Biswajit offered tribute to the Late officer and presented a shawl to  Ng Memcha, the mother of Late  Manoranjan. The chief guest praised the CRPF for organizing this tournament in the memory of the local martyr. He also urged the local youth to come forward and become responsible citizens. The Vote of Thanks was given by  D K Tripathi, DIG who thanked everyone including the sponsors for supporting CRPF in organizing the tournament.
The closing ceremony was also attended by P Doungel IPS, ADGP (Trg/Prisons) and other Senior Police Officers, Francis Marwein, Director (SAI, NERC) Imphal, senior officers of CRPF & BSF, other dignitaries, media persons, youth and children of local area.
The final match of the tournament was played between YPHU, Lalambung Makhong and  NISA, Thangmeiband wherein YPHU clinched the trophy by defeating NISA 2-0.
The winners, YPHU were feted with prize money of Rs 1,50,000 and a trophy while the runners up, NISA were rewarded with prize money of Rs 1,00,000 along with trophy.
Also prize money of Rs 5000 along with trophies were awarded to the best goal keeper T Dipak Singh of YPHU, best player L Gouro Singh of NISA, the highest goal scorer Sidharth Nongmeikapam of UPSA, Pukhao and the man of the match W, Sadananda Singh of YPHU, said a press statement of 143 Bn CRPF.
