First ever FIFA standard synthetic football turf inaugurated at Asufii Mao

Senapati, Mar 15: The first ever FIFA Standard pro-quality synthetic turf in the Senapati district was inaugurated at Asufii, Mao on  Saturday (March 14).  The synthetic football turf which can accommodate 6 men a side was inaugurated by Kaisu Arche, president of Mao Football Association (MFA) in the presence of Losii Dikho, Minister of PHED, Printing and Stationary. The Asufii Artifical Astro-Turf which is considered first in Hill Districts of Manipur was constructed in memory of Late N Losii & late Alex Lohrii Kape.
MFA president Kaisu stressed on the importance of sports and football in particular and shared his hope of bringing up fine world class players from the area after having such standard facility.
After the short programme, exhibition matches were held for kids and senior players. The proprietor, a young entrepreneur Levi Chakre, shared that it took two months to construct the FIFA standard synthetic football turf starting from the scratch level.
Sureka Exports was engaged for the product and technical part of the constructions, Levi Chakre said while adding that the facilities can be enjoyed by both young and old.
