Stage set for quarter finals of PTCC Football tourney

IMPHAL, Mar 17 : The quarter-finals line up of the 4th Men's Football Tournament being organised by Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club at its Football ground at Patsoi, completed today with 8 teams making the last 8 cut.
The day started with Dress House, Patsoi getting a walk over as TLDS, Thongju Part II did not turn up for a Group A encounter.
Later in another Group A league match, OFA Pungdongbam confirmed their quarter final berth by beating BOLERO FC, Bamon Leikai by 2-1 goals.
OFA got its first goal through Rohit in the 12th minute before Jenish of BOLERO FC fumbled in the 27th minute to concede an own goal and made it 2-0 in Pungdongbam team's favour.
BOLERO FC pulled back a goal in the 36th minute through Angousana but their latter efforts to draw level did not materialise as OFA defence stood firm to prevent any alteration in the scoreline till the final whistle.
Meanwhile in a Group B league match, Panthoibi FC, Patsoi pulled off a 4-2 win against FC Challou to finish big in the league table and make it to the quarter final stage of the tournament.
Sudhir drew first blood in the 9th minute to put Panthoibi FC ahead before Gouro scored the team's second two minutes latter.
The Patsoi team continued to dominate the proceedings and earned their third via Ajmir in the 16th minute before Telheiba rounded off the team's scoring in the 39th minute.
FC Challou which were reeling under immense pressure opened up their account in the 41st minute through Milan and Jenpu carried forward the momentum scoring the team's second the very next minute to make it 2-4. The Chalou side however failed to sustain their momentum and had to see Panthoibi FC cruise to a comfortable 4-2 victory.
The day also saw Ratan Jewellery get a walk over against Mangal FC, Khabam as the latter team did not turn up for the last group D league match. Ratan Jewellery also made it to the last 8 round with the full points they earned today.
