Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial Ginminthang brace fires Muvanlai Athletics into semis

IMPHAL, Mar 2 : Ginminthang scored twice to help Muvanlai Athletics seal a 2-1 comeback win against UKB, Churachandpur and a last four berth at the 10th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament 2019-20 being underway at SAI Sports Complex, Takyel.
UKB made a good start with Paulemsiam finding the target in the 12th minute but Muvanlai Athletics fought back to cancel the lead through Ginminthang goal in the 24th minute. Ginminthang was at it again in the 32nd minute to help his team take a slender 2-1 lead till the break.
UKB struggled to close the gap in the latter half but failed to make the good use of their chances. Muvanlai Athletics too had their chances to extend the lead but were unfortunate not to convert. However the two goals from Ginminthang was more them enough for the Kangpokpi outfit to made it to the semi-finals. It was a clean game with neither side picking up any bookings the game throughout.
NISA, Thangmeiband will meet DM RAO, Sekmai in the third quarter final league match tomorrow at 12.15 pm while  UPSA, Pukhao will take on WYFC, Wangjing in the last quarter final match on March 4 at 12.15 pm.
