4th KSO Sports Meet for Phailengmol Island Block concludes

IMPHAL, Mar 3
The 4th KSO Sports Meet for Phailengmol Island Block which was held from the 24th February came to an end today at Bongbal Kholen village in Kangpokpi district. The closing ceremony was grace by Nemcha Kipgen, Minister Social Welfare & Cooperation; Shila Konghay, MDC Kamuching DCC and Thangjamang Kipgen MDC Bongbal Kholen DCC as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president.
N Mollen Youth Club (NMYC) were crowned the football champions after they beat  Chungkholen Nemkholhing Memorial Team (CNMT) of B Geljang in the final match, said a statement of KSO Phailengmol Island Block.
N Mollen Youth Club on the other hand became the winners and Siloijang Youth Welfare Association (SYWA) finished runners up, it added.
In ladies' volleyball,  Kamuching Sporting Club (KSC) beat Salampatong Sporting Youth Club (SPSYC) to win the title while overall best team title went  to Salampatong Sporting Youth Club. Salampatong Sporting Youth Club also bagged Best Discipline Club of the Tourney accolade, the statement said.
Speaking as a chief guest, Nemcha Kipgen urged the youths of the area to restrain from drugs and intoxicants. "As a player one must have game spirit and abide by the rules and regulations of the game," she said while persuading to draw inspiration from the life of world famous boxer, MC Mary Kom.
