13th Manipur State League: NEROCA FC thrash NACO to earn top spot; UKB move up one place

IMPHAL, Mar 5: Y Sonam Chothe shone as NEROCA FC thrashed NACO to top the points table of the 13th Manipur State League 2019-20 at Khuman Lampak Artificial Turf Ground today. They beat NACO 6-1.
P Ajanpu Kabui landed the lone and first goal of the match for NACO in the 18th minute, but NEROCA FC were quick to find their equalizer in S Subhash in the 24th minute. The first half ended with a 1-1 score.
The second half saw NEROCA FC dominating with Y Sonam scoring his first in the 55th minute followed by a goal from Khiminthanglhu in the 62nd minute to make the score 3-1 against NACO.
Even as NACO tried to turn the tide and score, they ended up conceding the 4th goal as S Subash put his second into the net in the 68th minute.
Hungry for more goals, NEROCA mounted up attack on NACO and got two more with Y Sonam Chothe firing his second and third goal back to back in the 84th and 90+2 minute to end the match 6-1 in their favour.
Today was the sixth match for NEROCA FC, who are ahead of NISA in goal difference. Both, with 16 points, are in the top two spots of the points tally.
Later in the day, UKB Churachandpur beat GSC Churachandpur 5-1 to move up a spot and place 4th in the points table.
UKB's John grabbed a double in the 8th and 41st minute as GSC's Micheal scored an own goal in the 22nd minute to make the score 3-0 against them (GSC).
Thanggoulen and Lamthianlal then went for the kill and scored one each for UKB in the 44th and 90+3 minute to end the match 5-1.
Satgouthang scored the lone goal for GSC in the 51st minute.
UKB is at 4th place with 14 points trailing behind NISA (16 points), MUVANLAI Athletics (15 points).
