Manipur finish 12th at 25th All India Forest Sports Meet

Thoubal, Mar 7 : Manipur contingent were able to finish 12th at the 25th All India Forest Sports Meet, 2020 which was held at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha since March 3 with a total haul of 6 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The meet was participated by Forest Departments of all the States of India, Union Territories and also other forestry organisations such as the Indian Council For Forestry Research and Education, the Directorate of Forestry Education, the Forest Survey of India of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India and the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun. In all, there were about 2500 participants of different rank and files.
The Forest Department, Government of Manipur under the leadership of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and HoFF sent a 45 strong contingent to represent Manipur in the Meet.  H Brajamani Sharma, retired IFS and Th Mohendrapratap Singh, retired IFS also made it to the meet and encouraged the participants from Manipur.
L Dhananjoy Singh, Forester clinched 3 (three) gold medals in swimming in Senior Veteran category in 50 m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 50 m Breast Stroke events and 1(one) bronze medal in 50m Freestyle swimming event. N Anilkumar Singh, Forest Guard added a gold medal to Manipur's tally finishing first in Men's 100 m open free breast stroke event.
 N Santosh Singh, Range Officer also won a gold medal for Manipur in 50 m Back Stroke event for Senior Veterans.
Th Lokendro Singh, MFS won a gold medal in hammer throw event in Senior Veteran Category.
Ningombam Anna Devi, Forest Guard won a silver medal in Women's singles open Table Tennis as Pritam Kshetri, Range Officer won a silver medal in veteran singles category. Pritam along with  Siva Veimy, MFS won silver medal in senior veterans doubles event.
Pritam Kshetri, Range Officer also won a bronze medal in senior veteran singles table tennis.  Ningombam Anna Devi, Forest Guard and Athokpam Riya Devi, Forest Guard also won a bronze medal for Manipur in women's doubles open table tennis. Vahneichong  Singsong, MFS also clinched 2 (two) bronze medals in rifle shooting in Prone and 3P events in women's open category while forest guards Priyo and Amarjit, a last bronze medal in carrom.
