1st all ladies "Centurion ride" held on eve of International Women’s Day, cyclists feted

A 100 Km long all ladies cycle ride named  “1st centurion ride” was organised by Bicycle Mayor of Imphal on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The event was  supported by Imphal Randonneurs and Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking Association with Arun Kumar Ngangbam as ride responsible.
The ladies rode from Kangla to Pallel (to and fro) and 10 cyclists out of 11 completed the ride in 7 hours, said a press statement of Bicycle Mayor of Imphal.
. The ladies who participated and completed the 100 km ride are Dr H Rajshree Devi, Shiny Chabungbam, Sony Ningthoujam, Chanchal Khumanthem, Debita, Pareima Ngathem, Angelica Angomjambam, Sharmila, Dr Janet Ningthoujam and Urvashi.
Members of the Ideal Club, Tera hosted a reception for the riders at the club with  S Satyabhama Devi, Chairperson of Manipur State  Women’s  Development Corporation as the chief guest, it added.  The president  of the Club RK Tombisana lauded the riders and further said that the club will extend all sort of possible help to the cyclists. Chief guest of the function, S Satyabhama Devi  also congratulated the ladies and continued that they have proved Women are no longer weaker sex.
Bicycle Mayor of Imphal, Dr Sanjib Nepram said the ride was organised to encourage ladies to take up cycling and help convert Imphal into a cycle city.
