Meghalaya Govt verifies credentials of over 7000 stranded people

Shillong, Apr 24: A total number of 7, 288 persons have been verified for the Chief Minister’s Special Grant for people from Meghalaya who are stranded in various parts of the country.
“Details of 7,288 verified applicants sent to bank for disbursements. Banks are processing the same,” the State government of Meghalaya said on Friday.
Meanwhile, the state government also informed that a total of 2, 33, 193 unorganised labourers have registered for special assistance of Rs 2100 and so far 2, 02, 281 such labourers have been verified.
The government also said that 9, 302 labourers have been provided support of Rs. 3000 each the under Building and Other Construction Workers Act.
Meanwhile, under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 87,189 farmers from Meghalaya have been provided financial assistance.
