Fresh COVID-19 case in Assam

Another person from Assam tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
This time the victim is a 16-year-old girl.
The victim hails from Salmara in Bongaigaon district.
It is learnt that the 16-year-old girl is a case of secondary infection, who had come in contact with a returnee from the religious congregation Tablighi Jamaat of Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
With this, the number of COVID-19 patients in the State now stands at 36.
However active hospital cases are eight.
Before this, the last COVID-19 positive case was detected on April 23 last at Bilasipara in Dhubri district.
The State has recorded one death.
Around 20 persons infected with COVID-19 have already been cured and discharged from different hospitals across the State.        NE Now
