Nupi Lup condemns

IMPHAL, Apr 3: Many people are taking advantage of the lockdown as they indulged in drinking liquor, abusing drugs and gambling, said a press release issued by Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup.
Indulging in such immoral activities when the State is surrounded by fear and apprehension of further virus spread is very disappointing, it said adding that the precautionary measures taken up by the Government will be fruitless if more people took advantage of the lockdown for amusement.
The association also appealed to the police and other law enforcing agencies of the State to take up legal action against such people. It also urged the meira paibis to be vigilant to avoid such gathering at their respective localities.
The lup lauded all COVID-19 frontline workers who are working round the clock to ensure the safety of the public.
