IMPHAL, Apr 3
Pan Meetei Convention (PMC) has appealed all to co-operate with the law enforcing agencies and follow the guidelines of the Government during the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press statement, PMC reiterated that maintaining social distance and personal hygiene can only control and prevent the spread of disease caused by the new virus.
The organisation also appealed all not to panic and avoid stigmatization of health workers or any other individuals irrespective of any religious background so that any self suspected carrier of the disease may voluntarily come forward for testing and necessary treatment.
PMC also urged Meetei community settling in the different States of India to avoid large gathering even if it is a customary occasion.
The convention further requested everyone to be vigilant and refrain from fake news floating on social media.
