House gutted

IMPHAL, Apr 3 : A house at Utlou Mayai Leikai in Bish-nupur district was reduced to ashes by an accidental fire which broke out at around 6 pm today.
The house which has been completely gutted belonged to Loitongbam Dhanachandra, 75. Sources said that the house had RCC foundation but the first floor was made of wood.
Fire tenders from Nambol Fire Sub-Station, Manipur Fire Service headquarters along with locals rushed to the spot and made all efforts to douse the fire but they could only prevent the fire from spreading to the neighbouring houses.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is estimated that properties worth several lakhs were destroyed by the fire.
A detail report of the incident was not yet available at the control room of Manipur Fire Service till the time of filing this report.
