CM launches police patrol

Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched the Manipur Police Patrol Unit meant for Imphal city at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today.
The Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio, handed over keys of newly procured police cars to Imphal East SP Jogesh-chandra Haobijam and Imphal West SP K Megha-chandra to mark the laun- ching of the unit.
For operationalisation of the Special Police Patrol Unit, 15 Innova cars have been procured by Manipur Police Department. The unit which would operate within Imphal West and Imphal East districts will be manned by selected police officers and personnel of both the districts.
This is a milestone for the Police Department and will go a long way in improving its overall efficiency and morale of the force apart from enhancing the image of Manipur Police.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K Robindro, Khurai AC MLA L Susindro, Yaiskul AC MLA Th Satyabrata, DGP LM Khaute and other high ranking officers of Manipur Police were also present at the occasion.
After the launch, the Chief Minister along with a few dignitaries and senior officers including DGP went on a drive in the city in the new patrol vehicles.
